Governance

The school is operated by a Society which is led by an elected Board of Directors. Any person eighteen 18 years of age or over may become a member of this Society by agreeing to Statement of Principles in the bylaws of this society and by paying the annual membership dues subject to approval by the Board. The primary responsibility of the Board is the establishment and enforcement of good policies which are consistent with and give clarity to the bylaws of the society. The board appoints a number of committees to help it do its’ work. They are:

  • Education
  • Finance
  • Maintenance
  • Transportation
  • Fundraising
  • Promotion
  • Admission

The committees are comprised of board members, staff members, and society members.

The Rocky Christian School Society is a registered charity in the province of Alberta and as such welcomes donations which are tax deductable.

Management

The Rocky Christian School Society employs a principal to manage Rocky Christian School. The principal is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the school including oversight of staff and the budget items relating to the educational program of the school. The Education committee works in concert with the principal and the board to enable effective management of the school.
